Heavy welding for larger components and structures
We offer heavy welding of larger welded and machined components as well as sheet metal structures. With modern production, experienced welders, and high control throughout the entire process, we deliver solutions with high and consistent quality.
What is heavy welding?
Heavy welding involves joining larger metal components and structures into finished products with high requirements for strength, precision, and quality. At Mastec WTech, we manufacture items such as frames, tanks, housings, hoods, cladding, and other larger welded structures. Through a high degree of vertical integration, we have full control over the entire manufacturing process.
We deliver:
- Manufacturing of larger welded structures
- Combination of welding, machining, and finishing
- High quality and consistent deliveries
Our methods in heavy welding

Laser cutting
Precise cutting that creates the right conditions for further production.

Bending and machining
Forming and machining of components with high accuracy.

Welding
Manual and automated welding of larger structures.
High-precision laser cutting
Laser cutting is an efficient and flexible choice when high demands are placed on precision and versatility. Our modern equipment enables high processing speeds and tight tolerances. The first step in manufacturing is laser or plasma cutting, depending on the material properties and thickness.
Capacity:
- Tight tolerances
- High processing speed
- Material thicknesses up to 120 mm
For thinner sheet metal parts where laser cutting, press braking and bending are the focus, we also offer sheet metal processing and thin sheet metal processing. When cut blanks or welded structures require subsequent precision operations, production can be combined with machining.

Bending and machining
Through advanced bending, the material is shaped with high accuracy in our press brakes. We ensure the correct dimensions and quality at every stage. We also offer extensive mechanical machining of both individual components and complete welded structures.
Capacity:
Bending up to 4 meters. Material thickness up to 12 mm. Machining up to 3500 × 2500 × 1800 mm.
Machinery:
- Vertical drilling machines
- Manual and automatic lathes
- Vertical and horizontal mills
- Horizontal boring mills
Welding with high quality and control
We offer both manual and automated welding. Robotic welding provides high efficiency and consistent quality in series production, while manual welding is used for more complex and customized structures. Our welders have broad expertise in several materials and work with a high focus on quality.
Materials:
Carbon steel, Structural steel, Aluminum, Stainless steel.
Benefits:
- Welding according to ISO 3834-2
- Certified welders
- Inspection methods: VT, PT, and UT

Painting and surface treatment
Our facility is fully equipped for wet painting and offers several methods, including airless and hydrodynamic application. The result is durable and corrosion-resistant surfaces that meet the requirements of demanding industrial environments.
Benefits:
- High corrosion resistance
- Customization according to requirements
- Durable end result
Development and production optimization
Our development team supports you throughout the entire development process. We offer support in production documentation based on 3D CAD as well as DFA and DFM analyses at an early stage. Through close collaboration, we create efficient and sustainable production solutions.
We contribute with:
- 3D CAD and production documentation
- DFA and DFM analyses
- Design optimization
- Efficient production

Quality and Environment
Quality is a central part of our operations. We work systematically with measurement and inspection methods to ensure that every delivery meets the specified requirements. In case of deviations, we work according to the 8D methodology to quickly identify causes and implement improvements.
How we work:
- Inspection methods: VT, PT, UT, and 3D measurement
- Structured processes
- Continuous improvement work

Frequently asked questions about heavy welding
Heavy welding is about joining larger metal components into durable structures with high requirements for quality, strength and function. It is often used for larger products, machine components and structures where the strength of the weld is crucial.
We work with, among other things, structural steel, aluminium, stainless steel and black sheet metal depending on the product’s requirements, area of use and technical conditions.
Yes, we combine manual welding and robotic welding to adapt production to volume, complexity and quality requirements. This allows us to create efficient and repeatable welding processes even for larger components.
We work in accordance with relevant ISO standards and use inspection methods such as visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing and 3D measurement to ensure the right quality. This way, we can check both the weld execution and the dimensional accuracy of the finished structure.
Yes, we provide support in the development phase and can also help with post-processing such as painting. This enables us to contribute to a more complete delivery and a finished product that meets the customer’s requirements for function, quality and finish.
